Ely Medical Group
Beauty treatment firm Ely Medical looks set to emerge from examinership this week after examiner Neil Hughes’ scheme of arrangement was accepted by creditors. Creditors have agreed to accept a dividend of ten per cent after founder Paul McGlade pledged to inject new funds into the business. The plan is set to be ratified this week in the High Court.

 

Foilmore Quarries
Anglo Irish bank has appointed Brian McEnery of Horwath Bastow Charleton receiver over Cahirciveen quarrying firm Foilmore Quarries. The company owes nearly €5 million to the bank.

 

Atomic Sports
Neil Hughes of Hughes Blake has been appointed liquidator to Lusk-based outdoor toy manufacturer Atomic Sports. The company collapsed owing €650,000. Founder Thomas O’Connell turned down investment in the firm during an appearance on Dragon’s Den in 2005.

 

Doppler Lifts
Another victim of the construction downturn is Doppler Lifts – a Dublin firm that specialises in the installation and maintenance of lifts, escalators and travelators.  Declan McDonald of Grant Thornton has been appointed liquidator.

 

Hydraulic Consultants and Services
Walkinstown firm Hydraulic Consultants and Services has also been wound up, with Tom Kavanagh of Kavanagh Fennell appointed liquidator.

 

Granard Motors
Justice Peter Kelly this week approved the appointment of PriceWaterhouseCoopers’ William O'Riordan as receiver over Granard Motors – a Longford SUV dealership that owes around €10 million to the Revenue Commissioners. The assets of owners Pauraig and John Kane have also been frozen.
